Time takes no holiday. It does not roll idly by, but through our senses works its own wonders in the mind. Time came and went from one day to the next; in its coming and its passing it brought me other hopes and other memories. [quoted in Peter Brown, Augustine of Hippo, p. 54] Augustine Of Hippo
About This Quote

The quote states that time cannot be cheated. It can come and go, but it is still always the same, it is still here. We all have days where we feel like we are running around in circles chasing our tails. However, each day brings us closer to the end of our time on this planet.

We may never get there, but we are getting closer. I know for myself that when I feel lost or overwhelmed by all that I have to do, it is good to remember that time will always be the same. Even if I don’t feel like working out or doing homework, I can remember that tomorrow is just another day.

Whatever happens will happen, but not today.
